Coach Qualifications & Code of Conduct

Effective Date: June 22, 2026

Mandatory for all coaches. All coaches on the Chaperone Performance platform must meet the qualification requirements and abide by the professional standards described in this agreement. Failure to comply may result in account suspension or permanent removal from the platform.

This Coach Qualifications & Code of Conduct Agreement ("Agreement") establishes the minimum qualification standards, professional conduct expectations, and operational requirements for all coaches who offer services through theChaperone Performance platform. By registering as a coach, you agree to meet and maintain these standards throughout your time on the platform.

1. Qualification Requirements

All coaches must meet the following minimum requirements before being approved to offer services on the Chaperone Performance platform:

  • Background check: Submit to and pass a comprehensive criminal background check conducted by Chaperone Performance or its authorized third-party screening provider.
  • Government-issued identification:Provide a valid, current government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID card) for identity verification.
  • Criminal history check: Clear a check for felony convictions and crimes involving violence, fraud, or dishonesty. Chaperone Performance reserves the right to determine eligibility based on the nature and recency of any criminal history.
  • Sex offender registry check: Clear a national and applicable state sex offender registry search. Any match is grounds for automatic disqualification from the platform.
  • Credentials and certifications: Provide documentation of relevant coaching certifications, sports qualifications, or professional training appropriate to the sports and age groups you coach.
  • Ongoing compliance: Maintain all qualifications in good standing and promptly notify Chaperone Performance of any change to your background or credentials that may affect your eligibility.

2. Coach Status — Independent Contractor

You acknowledge and confirm that you are an independent contractor providing services through the Chaperone Performance platform and not an employee, agent, or representative of Chaperone Performance. As an independent contractor, you are:

  • Responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on income earned through the platform.
  • Not entitled to employee benefits, workers' compensation, or unemployment benefits from Chaperone Performance.
  • Free to provide coaching services to other platforms or clients, subject to the non-circumvention provisions of this Agreement.
  • Solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining any required business licenses, professional insurance, or permits for your coaching practice.

3. Athlete Safety Standards

The safety of all athletes is a non-negotiable priority. You agree to:

  • Design and deliver training programs that are appropriate for each athlete's age, physical condition, skill level, and disclosed health limitations.
  • Conduct a verbal or written assessment of any athlete's physical condition and fitness history before beginning training, particularly for youth athletes.
  • Immediately halt any session if an athlete shows signs of physical distress, injury, or medical concern, and advise the athlete or parent/guardian to seek medical attention.
  • Maintain current knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures appropriate for your coaching environment.
  • Not push athletes beyond their stated physical limits or disclosed medical restrictions.
  • Ensure that the training environment — whether in-person or virtual — is safe and free of hazards.

4. Minor Athlete Protection

Coaches working with athletes between the ages of 13 and 17 must adhere to enhanced safety standards:

  • All in-person sessions with minor athletes must be conducted in a public, observable, and documented location, or with a parent or guardian present or nearby.
  • Virtual sessions with minor athletes should be conducted through the platform's approved video tools, not personal video conferencing accounts.
  • Coaches must not be alone in a private, non-public space with a minor athlete without a parent or guardian present.
  • You must immediately report any disclosure by a minor athlete of abuse, neglect, or safety concerns to Chaperone Performance and to relevant authorities as required by law.
  • You must obtain explicit parental consent before any recording, photography, or video of minor athletes, and only conduct such recording through the platform's approved tools.

Coaches under the age of 18 are not permitted to work with minor athletes on the platform.

5. Communication Policy

All communication with athletes and their families must occur exclusively through the Chaperone Performanceplatform's official communication tools. You agree not to:

  • Share personal contact information (personal phone number, personal email, social media handles) with athletes or parents/guardians.
  • Accept or solicit off-platform communication of any kind.
  • Use third-party messaging apps, social platforms, or personal email to contact athletes or families.
  • Store or use personal data about athletes or families outside of the platform for any purpose.

This policy is a fundamental safety measure and violations may result in immediate account suspension.

6. No Sexual Misconduct

Chaperone Performance has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual misconduct of any kind. You agree that you will never:

  • Engage in any sexual conduct, sexual communication, or sexual advances with any athlete, regardless of age.
  • Send or request sexually explicit content through any communication channel.
  • Engage in grooming behavior with minor athletes or their families.
  • Use the coaching relationship to develop a romantic or sexual relationship with an athlete.

Any allegation of sexual misconduct will result in immediate account suspension, investigation, and — where warranted — permanent removal from the platform and reporting to relevant authorities.

7. Non-Circumvention Policy

You agree that for a period of 48 months from the date of your first interaction with any athlete or family introduced through theChaperone Performance platform, you will not directly solicit, accept, retain, or be compensated for coaching or training services provided to those athletes or families outside of the Chaperone Performance platform, without the express written consent of Chaperone Performance.

Circumventing the platform deprives Chaperone Performance of the fees it is owed and violates the trust of the marketplace. Violations may result in account termination and civil liability for damages.

8. Platform Exclusivity During Active Sessions

While you maintain an active coach profile on Chaperone Performance, you agree to:

  • Conduct all sessions with Chaperone Performance-referred athletes exclusively through the platform's booking and payment system.
  • Not refer athletes discovered through Chaperone Performance to competing platforms or services.
  • Not actively recruit athletes or families from the Chaperone Performance platform for off-platform arrangements.

Nothing in this section prevents you from independently marketing your coaching services to clients you sourced outside of Chaperone Performance.

9. Payment Policy

Revenue from coaching sessions on the Chaperone Performance platform is distributed as follows:

  • Coach earnings: You receive 70% of the session fee paid by the athlete.
  • Platform fee: Chaperone Performance retains 30% of each session fee as a platform service fee.
  • Payment schedule: Coach earnings are disbursed according to the schedule disclosed at the time of account setup. Chaperone Performance reserves the right to modify payment schedules with reasonable notice.
  • Tax obligations: You are responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on your earnings. Chaperone Performance may issue tax forms as required by law.
  • Chargebacks and disputes: In the event of a payment dispute or chargeback, Chaperone Performance reserves the right to withhold or reverse payments pending resolution.

As a coach on the Chaperone Performance platform, you agree to uphold the following professional standards:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date profile information, credentials, and certifications.
  • Provide sessions at the agreed time, or provide advance notice of cancellation with sufficient lead time.
  • Deliver coaching services that match the descriptions provided in your profile.
  • Respond to athlete and family messages through the platform in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain professional boundaries in all coaching relationships.
  • Seek continuing education or professional development to maintain currency in your coaching discipline.
  • Not make guarantees of athletic outcomes, results, or competitive placement.

11. Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure Agreement

Through your use of the platform, you may have access to confidential information including athlete personal and medical information, platform technology and business practices, proprietary coaching resources, and athlete performance data. You agree to:

  • Keep all such information strictly confidential during and after your engagement with the platform.
  • Not disclose athlete personal or health information to any third party without explicit written consent.
  • Not use any confidential information for personal commercial gain or to benefit any competitor of Chaperone Performance.
  • Not reproduce, publish, or distribute proprietary Chaperone Performance content or methodologies.

This confidentiality obligation survives the deactivation or termination of your coach account indefinitely.

12. Content and Video Policy

Any content you submit to the Chaperone Performance platform — including your profile, coaching materials, session notes, and video content — must:

  • Be original or owned/licensed by you with appropriate rights to use on the platform.
  • Not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Not contain sexually explicit, violent, abusive, or otherwise harmful content.
  • Not include recordings of athletes or sessions without the documented consent of the athlete (and parent/guardian for minors).

You grant Chaperone Performance a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute content you submit through the platform for platform operations and promotional purposes.

13. Injury and Training Disclaimer

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Athletic training involves inherent risk of injury, and you will not hold Chaperone Performance liable for injuries sustained by athletes during sessions you conduct.
  • You will not provide medical diagnoses or prescribe treatments for athlete injuries.
  • You will advise athletes to consult qualified medical professionals for any health concerns before, during, or after training.
  • Any training modifications for athletes with disclosed medical conditions should be guided by appropriate medical clearance.

14. Reporting Requirements

You are required to promptly report to Chaperone Performance any of the following:

  • Athlete injury or medical emergency occurring during a session.
  • Disclosure by a minor athlete of abuse, neglect, or unsafe conditions at home or elsewhere.
  • Any threat of violence or self-harm made by an athlete or family member.
  • Attempted or actual off-platform solicitation by an athlete or family member.
  • Any change to your background (new criminal charge, revocation of certification, etc.) that may affect your eligibility as a coach.
